2013 Academy Award Nominations Announced
This morning, the nominations came in for the 85th Academy Awards — and there’s great news: Hugh Jackman earned his very first Oscar nomination, for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Congratulations, Hugh! Les Misérables scored a respectable eight nominations total, including Best Picture and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Anne Hathaway.
The original song composed for Hugh, “Suddenly,” written by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Herbert Kretzmer, and Alain Boublil has also been nominated. Unfortunately, performers of nominated songs receive no accolades; however, hopefully we can expect Hugh to sing the song live during the Oscar broadcast, to be held February 24th on ABC.
