Earlier today, Hugh Jackman revealed on his Instagram that he went in for skin cancer treatment. According to the message he left on the photo sharing site, he was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, the most frequent form of cancer. An estimated 2.8 million cases of this form of cancer are diagnosed in the United States every year, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. Read what Hugh said on his Instagram, and please do follow his advice about getting checked and protecting your skin.

Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil [sic] cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!
